What can I say? Its a recipe book on desserts and its from one of my favorite authors. I own many of Suzanne Somers somersize cook books and they are fantastic. This one proves to be of the same caliber. The recipes are easy to follow and she gives many variations and at the same time following her somersize program to lose weight. And yes, you will indeed lose weight and still be able to enjoy desserts and eat until you are full and not worry about gaining weight. My favorite recipe in this book is "Chocolate layer cake" which does not have any flour in the recipe and is covered in a chocolate ganache and a chocolate buttercream filling. Its to die for when you need that chocolate fix. I recommend this book for those who want to add to their Suzanne Somers book collection. You won't be sorry.Read full review
This little book is fantastic, I love, love, love this little book. I am not a fan of artificial sweeteners, but Suzanne has the best desserts. If you are dieting and need something that won't destroy all your hard work try Decaf Coffee Granita. It's really just ice, but you could serve it after dinner with whipped cream and it would be a hit. I made Somersweet Truffles, Orange flavored, Delish! And Lemon Zabaglione, mmm mmm mmm. I always watch Suzanne Somers on HSN and took this opportunity to get this book at a fraction of the cost. The thing I don't like about this book is that it's too little!
Very good book, it had great recipes, that I tested and enjoyed. The recipes are excellently photographed and well laid out with recipe alterations and substitutions for using real sugar, or sacharine. I tried some of them with Splenda, using the same ration as real sugar, and it worked great too! I have some of Suzanne Somer's Somersweet, but I find that I enjoy Splenda a little better. Depends on the recipe. Creamy dairy laden desserts are fine with Somersweet, but the coffee glace, I liked better with Splenda. The book is actually smaller than typical cookbooks, and I wish it had more recipes, but it serves my sweet tooth well enough.
Sometimes it's the older recipes for low carb diets that can be exciting. These recipes are straight forward, and easy to produce.
