Functional, good value
Often, conditions that inspire a hat-wearing also render the hat unwearable..... like wind. In particular, I have a rain hat that I could not wear if it was windy - the brim was big enough to keep some rain off my glasses, but that also meant it would easily catch the wind and come off, especially as i live in an urban area where the wind whips around buildings in erratic ways. Stampede strings are expensive and often don't come with cotter pins. Some of the best hat shops in Manhattan didn't have anything to offer. These are easy to install (if there is not room to slip under the lining, it's easy to poke it through the right fabric or use an awl). The cotter pins are not very big, so I don't know if these would work for, say, bullriding, but so far they are working for me. There is a bit of stretch in the cord, which is nice, especially since the length isn't super long. So for my needs, this is a great value and works well. I like these for the practical use vs being used for a dramatic fashion statement, or I would have chosen something else. Shipping/delivery was timely.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Fixed a problem.
