If you're tired of waiting for water to get hot while you run the shower, this product is a good solution. This product is usually used for a bathroom that is far from the water heater. This product uses the plumbing that's existing to circulate water between the water heater and the distant bathroom. Then, when you turn on the hot water, hot water comes out! I like that you can set the timer to turn on and off as many times as you want so that you're not constantly circulating hot water (runs up the cost to heat water). Generally, people have the circulation pump turn on 30 mins before they take a shower in the morning and turn off when no one is home. They then do the same at night when people are likely to be using hot water at that end of the home. If you lose power to your home, you have to reset the timer to the correct time or you'll circulate water when you don't mean to do so. I install these for people and the biggest problem is the owner's ability to understand how to set the time even though it is very easy. If you're not mechanically inclined at all, skip this product. the time will change, someone will unplug it, or you'll lose power and not know to reset the time or how to reset the time. It only works if you can read and execute instructions.Read full review

It does what it says. To a point. I just wish it kept the water a bit hotter. you get lukewarm water within a couple seconds, moderately hot in 15 or so. Still takes 45 seconds for fully hot water. I realize that getting hotter water sooner would use more energy, but I'd be OK with that.

I have had one for years, and bought this one for my Daughter, who said her son turned on the shower in her two story and went back to bed, to wait for hot water. Now it is instantaneous. $200 at Home Depot, so yes this is a value. An easy DIY project with simple tools.

I was taking a risk because I needed the pump and not the timer. It was worth the risk because the price was so low. Turned out that the pump was fine so the part I needed was perfect. Timer was junk.

I've put about 10 of these units in so far. They all seem to work great. No problems so far after about 4 years. I keep mine on the timer mode and it comes on 2 times a day for a few hours each time. Just follow the install instructions.
