Very fun game! If you are looking for something to help you pass some time, Harvest Moon: SOS is the one for you. I’ve never before played a game that could be genuinely enjoyed by people of all ages; with so many different achievements/trophies to unlock, townspeople to keep up with, and farm maintenance, you will never run out of things to do. The tutorial spans about a week of in-game play time, and is the only part of the game so far that i’ve “disliked”, only because I was ecstatic to get elbows deep into the actual gameplay & lore. I would highly recommend reading a few online Harvest Moon SOS forums, as there are some incredibly helpful tips for new players— which will definitely save you a ton of grief in the beginning and make gameplay significantly “easier” & more enjoyable overall! In conclusion, this game (and any other games in the Harvest Moon series) is an amazing choice for anyone looking for a game that is just difficult enough, just fast-paced enough, and overall SO FUN!Read full review

Before I heard about the Natsume/XSeed split, I had purchased Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley thinking this was the newest Harvest Moon title, only to be extraordinarily disappointed. I won't get into my feelings on that game however. When I heard about the release of Story of Seasons, and learned that it was going to be the TRUE successor to the Harvest Moon series, I was still nervous after my experience with Lost Valley. However, after I got enough money I finally purchased this game. Overall, this game feels and plays just like what any true Harvest Moon fan would expect. The farming aspect is basically the same (though tweaked to be a bit less time consuming). The characters and point of the game feel very much like what you would expect, and (what many consider the most important part for any Harvest Moon title), the relationship building system and bachelor/ettes are much more likable than their TLV counterparts. It even has the same sound effects that any Harvest Moon fan will recognize. There are a few issues with the game that made it much less playable than former games in the Harvest Moon franchise: 1. You run out of energy way too quickly. Even with food options, there simply isn't enough energy to go around if you want to have a really large, successful farm. Even once you unlock a house with a bathroom, the toilet and the bath only restore half a heart each, which barely makes up for what you lose even doing simple tasks like watering your crops. 2. Prices are ridiculous, and materials way too hard to find. I'm not gonna get too into the economy, but 100000G to upgrade a bag? No thanks. And with the energy it takes me to cut down a tree, I'll never have enough lumber to fully upgrade my house. Those are my biggest complaints with the game, and if I thought about it, I'm sure I could come up with more, but really I don't want to overshadow what a good game this is. Of the Harvest Moon games I've played up to this point, Tree of Tranquility and A New Beginning are probably my favorites, but this game is very solid and will fill that hole that The Lost Valley left us all with. Don't be afraid of this game. It won't ruin your expectations.Read full review
Yea I'm not gonna elaborate on the title. It is what it is, if youre a casual gamer and like playing simple puzzle games, simulations, or just some stress free goddamn piece of quiet I think this game is for you. If you are adrenalin fuled GIT GUD SCRUB, COD junkie, Darksouls masochist, or basically someone who gets bored at the ldea of watering plants in a game for fun then its just not for you and NO I'm not throwing shade on anyone thats just how these things work.

Game developers should make more games like this. More interaction with the character s would have been nice in a sense of adding voices and some animation, but still a great game.

I highly recommend this game. It is so much fun! So many bachelors who are sweet (except Ford, I hate him with a passion). The mechanics are so much easier to learn and quicker access to the towns. Also Wayne & Ludus are such babes, they are enough to buy the game alone!
