poor design, was not a simple bolt up system, I had to have a exhaust company cut and modify the parts so it would fit correctly
The flowmaster tubing was to big to fit on the stock header pipe, That had to be welded on .The muffler was hitting the cross-members, so the piping had to be cut and modified to fit correctly between the frame cross-members. The tail pipe did not fit over the rear sway bar and was to small to fit on the forward pipe, we had to cut and weld that piece to fit over the front pipe and it still rattles due to the tight clearance issues. This system was supposed to be a bolt up exhaust. After two nights of trying to get this exhaust on my new jeep I had to take it to a professional exhaust shop for them to cut and fit and weld together this system. I called flowmaster and they were unhelpful and told me that cutting and welding is normal to install these. After the exhaust was professionally installed I am still not happy with the way it sounds. I have had flowmaster exhausts on my other jeep and it was great, this one makes my jeep sound like a 4 cylinder with a coffee can muffler. I do not recommend this exhaust or this company. when my budget allows I will be cutting off this poorly designed exhaust and putting on something that adds horsepower and sounds more throaty. I actually think this system is hurting my engine as my jeep now seems to up-shift faster due to lack of exhaust back pressure since I have the automatic transmission.
