Great Post Driver
I reviewed several different brands of post drivers - for horsepower, size of pipe, ease of use, and flexibility to handle 8’ posts. Selected the XL-8 and I’m glad I did. The flip handle made it easy to drive 8’ (2-3/8”) metal posts without needing a ladder. Really not a one-man operation. The driver weighs around 50 lbs, plus the post, and having to tip up to get ready to drive the post. Used a bi-directional level and had one person hold the post level while other person operated the driver. WORKED GREAT. Just remember to start the motor before tipping up - can’t reach the starter cord when on top of 8’ post! Drove 20 posts in less than one hour. Remember to wear ear protection as the hammer is sharply loud. Mine did not hammer at first, but instructions correctly identified the problem being the hammer stuck by the grease - just drop onto post to break loose from the grease. Clear instructions on setting up. Used less than 1/2 tank of gas for the 20 posts. Highly recommended for driving the round fence posts.
