A very special kit, very rare topic. There are plenty of kits of a Sopwith Camel, but none of them look like this. Very large kit with lots of parts, very high molding quality all over. Not too difficult to assemble, although this kit is NOT for beginners, considering its complexity ! There are a couple of ways to finish this model, different parts are available. The control surfaces can be made functional (!!) This is a multi-media kit, which means the kit offers rubber tires, photo etch parts, thread, copper wire, a rubber hose, a few vinyl parts, and more. The chrome parts look great, too. There are also a couple of large sheets with absolute perfect, beautiful drawings, side and top views, etc.. Razor sharp print, in color, good enough to frame and hang on a wall ! Because this is an open version of the Sopwith, there are only a few decals but they are of high quality, too, ofcourse. The instructions are very good, although the translation from Japanese to English leaves lots of room for a few question marks. Although update parts are not available for this kit (as far as I know....) it should be easy for an experienced modeller to make a few of his own. Considering the amount of parts already available, I don't think there will be any need for them, anyway. If you like WW1 airplanes, this model should definately be part of your collection !! Very highly recommended.Read full review

I put together my first model kit in 1962 and one of the first things I learned about the hobby is that I really, really didn’t like to put together kits involving aircraft from the First World War. In terms of subject matter I am more interested in late 1930s aircraft and handling all the struts & rigging drove me nuts. Well, with this kit that is not a problem at all. Hasegawa has engineered this kit in a masterful fashion- everything thing fits perfectly. At this stage of the hobby I I am just as much interested in the interior details as the outsides - which is the main point of this kit. I also like the fact that the parts have been molded in multiple colors so I haven’t had to get overly involved with painting. I’ve just had to put the thing together er, which has made this kit the most fun model I have assembled since the ones I speed-built as a ten-year old. A little pricey, but well worth itRead full review

Excellent scale model with required skill level and complexity to keep a modeller busy and satisfied. The result is a unique and detailed aircraft which is well worth the effort.
