I also have a JBL HDI 1200P, $3,000. The RP-1600SW has a lower frequency output, probably down to 18hz, more powerful output, very noticeable. I do not hear any distortion and it is what I've been missing in my home theater. I have a large room. The Klipsch could easily 100% replace the JBL and I would be happy. The JBL is tunable and has high-quality, refined output above 40hz. It would be nice if the Klipsch had an app like SVS. I added the Dayton Audio DSP and am going to try to integrate both sub-woofers using REW. I highly recommend the Klipsch and Ira @ World Wide Stereo.
