SO GOOD, I FORGET THAT THIS IS FROM THE D.C. UNIVERSE, LOL.
OUTSTANDING FUN, WHOLISTIC, Old School entertainment. An intergalactic Magnificent Eight or Time Traveling Sci-Fi Dirty Dozen with a witty, smart, geektastic, nerdlicious, GOONIES NEVER DIE sensibility. Yet the characters and stories are VERY timely (no pun intended), meaning MAIN CHARACTERS are bisexual, fluid, females are alpha, guys are queer, yet the STANDARD, TRADITIONAL TROPES are still VERY MUCH IN THE FOREFRONT, so I think this series is perfect for open-hearted, intelligent, fun-loving viewers of ANY generation, era, political, sexual, ethnic, financial or current pop culture mandate. That's why I LOVE this show. Fans get to travel within the grey muddled UNFIXED streams of Time itself, so WHEN THEY MAKE MISTAKES or go to correct a villainous CORRUPTION of the Past- the Legends, often unintentionally make little "TWEEKS" to the official Time Line of Humanity. One of my favorite episodes, from Season 2 is when the Legends have to save President Barack while he is in college and when they have to kidnap Einstein to protect him from the NAZIs, or when they must rescue Helen of Troy who turns out desires to be a Warrior because she feels TRAPPED by HISTORY to keep being a Pawn or Symbol or dumb excuse for war. I forgot how Dark, Brooding and Intense many of Season 1 episodes were. But I treasure them too. Maybe post-COVID, I am viewing everything I watch with more subdued, pensive and anxious eyes. The series jumps the shark by Season 4, in my opinion. But maybe try this show out. Season 2 is where they HIT THEIR STRIDE, as writing, characters and story arcs become more defined and established--so the show becomes more relaxed, exciting, FANtastic and risky in THE BEST WAYS. DON'T call them Heroes, LOL. They are NOT. They are LEGENDS, deeply flawed Human Beings with sad, angry, bitter, weird, average, chaotic Lives; which is why I LOVE them. They bitch, whine, complain and often are motivated by Personal Gain, Fear and Revenge. But with this motley crew, there is ALWAYS somebody on the team who is NOT having an emotional moment so that person (that episode, cause they equally take turns going INSANE) will remind the others or just pick up the slack until everyone gets their shit together, ALL WHILE SAVING THE UNIVERSE AS WE KNOW IT: Past, Present & Future!
