Rob Zombie literally strikes again with The Devil's Rejects - a gross, scary flick that is as over the top as it is well done. Rolling Stone named the Devil's Rejects as one of their top 25 movies in 2005... and for good reason. The relatively no-name cast (including Mrs. Rob Zombie) is terrificly disturbing. The production by Rob Zombie is tremendous - dark, well put together and provocative. Beware though - this movie ranks amoung the top ever in curse words and f-bombs... but if that doesn't bother you, sit back, turn the lights down and the sound way up. Recommended for any date (kind of). Note: My preference is for the wide-screen version as it is more true to Rob Zombie's clever montages. I waited a long time after its release to see House of 1000 Corpses expecting some garbage from a heavy metal rock star who thinks he can direct. I was totally wrong. Rob Zombie is obviously a true horror film afficionado and has developed an amazing pair of films. He is on par with Carpenter, Cronenberg, and Romero. In 1000 Corpses, Zombie has the audience completely horrified by the acts of the psychotic family the film centers around. In Rejects, even though this family is still doing wonderful things such as skinning people alive, he manages to turn them into anti-heroes who you horrifyingly find yourself cheering for by the film's end. Captain Spaulding has got to rank in the top 100 movie characters ever to grace the silver screen. I am dying to try his fried chicken. Definitely see 1000 Corpses on DVD so you converse with the Captain before playing the movie. Also, after the show, you cannot miss the special feature called simply: "Tiny %$#%#% a stump".Read full review
A very surreal movie. It has an almost documentary feel to it. It is filled with senseless violence, but Rob Zombie's Directing style is definitely unique. Some people will not like this movie, others will enjoy it through many viewings. If you are a fan of Horror or Metal music, you will love this movie. Many top notch actors of past great horror films are in this movie. It has an awesome soundtrack, although what may seem like odd choices upon first viewing, they fit the movie very well. I actually felt bad for the villians in this movie. Filled with great one liners throughout, this film shows that Rob Zombie will be one of the great Horror directors/writers of our time. I look forward to his next project.
i think this is the best movie of all time! sherrie moon is awesome!rob zombie started this with house of 1000 corpses.the movies are about this big family of mass murderers.they are all crazy and they all commit various acts of murder.it starts with grandad, then u have his daughter and her husband, they have grown children one of which is played by sherrie moon.theri family also consist of several uncles and aunts and cousins!one of the family members runs a carnival which helps bring a lot of theri victims in.the have a huge house were most of the torture goes on they have several other hideouts as well.
Watching "House 1000 corpses" and "Devil's Rejects" back to back was one of my best movie experience ever. I've seen many horror movies and this is near the top of the "my" list. Creepy in everyway with a 70's feel to it, great characters and storyline with lots of action make it a "can't miss" for horror fans. Rob Zombie already produced two classics in many people's opinions and I can't wait to see his next movies.
