I hesitated to try the Polychromos pencils because of the cost factor. I am so glad I saved my pennies and was able to splurge. WOW, they are wonderful. They are an oil-based pencil vs. a waxed based pencil like the Prismacolor Premiers. They color differently than those but that is not a bad thing! I love both sets and now I have to make a choice when I grab my better colored pencil sets. The color lay-down on the Polychromos pencils is rich and vibrant. They leave a good bit more white on the page so investing in some blending pencils is a wise investment. I would and WILL buy this set again when I get down to the ends of my pencils. Faber-Castell products are all 5-star worthy. Never hesitate to purchase their products.

If I had one brand of colored pencil to use in my work, this would e it. I use 3 Artist Quality brands and this is my "go to," for oil based pencil. Beautiful, brilliant coverage at a reasonable price with plenty of open stock sources available and at this size several options if I run out of a specific shade in the middle of a project.

They are beautiful colors. Layers were easy to do. Still like Prisma white. I told several friends and they bought sets too.

Love these pencil so much. They may cost a big of money but worth it. Makes coloring fun again and the colors are so vibrant. My only complaint is there was no foam in the top of the pencils so there was so brokerage of tips and color dust on the inside of the tin.
