Convenient remote Wi Fi switching
If you have good Wi Fi coverage in the area the smart switch will be located, this is a good choice for remote operation without a bridge. The Lutron Caseta is limited to a 30 feet range from the required Caseta bridge. Out of the five Decora Smart Switches in use at my home, only one would be within range of the Caseta system, the rest are up to 100 feet away. I did have some trouble updating the firmware. It can only be done through the Leviton Decora Smart Home app and the app wasn't working. I deleted the app, re-installed it, and that got it to work as it should. For light switch programming and manual operation, I use Apple's "Home" app and it was very easy to set up. It does lack a "random" feature but has other programming options such as time of day using local sunset/sunrise and activating when a family member's phone joins the home network after dark. If you use a Decora Smart Switch in a 3 way light switch circuit, you need to purchase a coordinating or matching remote switch. Normal 3 way switches will not work for the other switches in a circuit with a Decora Smart Switch. The "smart" switch is installed in the "line" switch box. That is the box that is supplied power by the breaker panel. The remote switch is located in the switch box referred to as the "load" in the installation instructions.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Unstable on my network.
After installation, the switch accepted enrollment on the home network. It worked for a few hours, then went offline. I removed it from the network and re-enrolled it. Same thing, it worked for several hours and then went offline. Other devices on the network were not affected, and remained online. Not ready for prime time
leviton app for the homekit version of this switch basically just allows you to add it to homekit. In homekit you can't access the light without a homepod or apple computer on all the time at home so its remote functions are basically useless. On top of that it loses connectivity with my router frequently requiring router reboot to reconnect. Lots of reports on this but I ignored them. I ended up taking it out (42 dollar lesson) and putting in a straight timer switch from honeywell that doesn't connect to my wireless. Much simpler and more reliable setup.
