EZ-track provides many options to a basic track set that sets up quickly and affordably.
Bachmann makes it affordable and easy to do a track layout with EZ-track. No ballast needed just snap the pieces together. It is not a perfect system and securing the track to a board will prevent hitches on the connections. Since it is proprietary it is also slightly more expensive than say an Atlas track. The track expander kit gives a lot for the money compared to purchasing the components individually. I am quite pleased to be able to do a simple layout with turnouts and bumpers without a lot of work. I would recommend buying the track expander kit to anyone who has bought a basic set as it will provide much greater enjoyment of train running.
