Durable and easy to use
Ideal for checking straightness and plumb of large surfaces quickly. Even though I have a laser level tool, I have found this straightedge much more handy and quicker to use when checking straightness of wall studs and adfing shims prior to drywall installation. When used for longer measurements over space, it holds its shape and rigidity better than a tape measure. Although a bit awkward to transport because of it's size, once at the jobsite, or for permanent shop storage, it's invaluable.

8 ft. straight edge
This 8 ft straight edge makes drawing a straight line on a 4X8 sheet of wood, etc a much easier task. When I do it 4 ft at a time, they never seem to come out straight.
