Mec-Gar Magazine for Ruger ,22 - Works OK in Standard Model pistol

At first I was having misfeeds with ths magazine, but that smoothed out after 20-30 rounds and all seems OK now. I am using it in an early (1950s) Ruger Standard Model pistol, not a Mark II. All that needs to be done to use it in a Standard Model or a Mark I pistol is reversing the magazine follower stud to the left side, a simple one-minute job that anyone can do.

    Mis-feeds and jambs

Bought two of these while they look the same as factory they jam or mis-feed 2-3 times out of 10 rds. Don't even use them anymore as rounds get Mia formed and unusable. Don't know what causes mid-feeds but can load and shoot Ruger mag with no problems but these two will jam at least twice for same number of rounds with same Ammo. Use cci stingers and mini mag also tried two other cheaper brands with same results.

  • Mecgar Ruger Mark II Magazine

Bought this magazine to use in a Standard Model Ruger pistol. It functions well in the Standard Model and adds one more round than the original 9 round capacity magazine. Should also work in the Ruger Mark I.

  • Quality Ruger Mark II Magazines for Less

Mec-Gar has always made quality aftermarket magazines for a lot of different gun manufactures. If you need some magazines for your Ruger Mark II and don't want to spend about $28 each for Ruger factory magazines, give Mec-Gar magazines, which are made in Italy, a try for about $18 each I think you will be satisfied. The finish is excellent, but they are a little stiffer than new factory magazines. I'm sure they will smooth out over time with use.

  • Perfect fit

Fit and function seem to be fine after 100 rounds... no feeding issues ... Spring is significantly stiffer then Ruger factory mags... Makes loading a little more difficult. After 5 or 6 mags my thumb got a little sore.. Aftermarket mag loader assist would solve this issue... Loading button is smaller then Ruger factory mag's.

  • Fast shipping, great mags! I bought these to run in my 1975 produced MK I (A100 frame). They fit and feed flawlessly! These will also fit the older M

Fast shipping, great mags! I bought these to run in my 1975 produced MK I (A100 frame). They fit and feed flawlessly! These will also fit the older MK1 frame if you move the button to the other side. The MK I mags have been out of production for a long time and are very expensive if you can find them. Glad these inexpensive and very high quality alternative mags are available! Mec Gar mags are always as good as factory (as they are the OEM maker for many brands).

  • Mec-Gar Ruger MK ? Magazine

I bought this magazine for my Ruger Standard .22 pistol hoping it would fit and function. All of the reviews I read touted how great it was. Well it wasn't. It wouldn't release when I pressed the mag release. I had to use a small screwdriver to pry it out. The magazine I already had releases easily, it's a Ruger magazine that came with the pistol. It functions fine. If you have any of these magazines and they work for you without any problems good for you. Mine ended up in the garbage the day I got it. Might be good for some but not for mine. I won't buy another Mec-Gar Product.

  • Top quality new magazines.

Mec Gar magazines are usually top quality and a better price than OEM magazines. I did have an issue with an occasional jam from one of the two magazines so can't give them a perfect rating, but still worth the money for plinking.

  • Mine are junk.

I bought two of these - trying to be cheap and not buy real $$$ Ruger magazines. Neither of them feed properly. And yes, I was using quality ammunition - CCI Stingers. Even the cheap Winchester bulk works fine with the Ruger factory mags, so it is NOT the gun or the ammunition. Some of these magazines might be great, but these two are not. Mostly failure to feed. Did not get 10 rounds without a jam from either magazine. Going to spend the $$$ and get Ruger Factory magazines. I tried to run 30 rounds through each magazine.
