I bought this microphone to use with a Sony digital recorder to record family discussions for keepsakes for the grandkids later. It worked suprisingly well in a noisy restaurant. In a quieter setting it works even better of course. I have a small bag with the recorder, a lapel mike for individual talks, and this mike for groups. A couple of extra batteries just in case and we are good to record thousands of hours.
