These fizzer style surface lures were never that popular in Australia, most people casting lures just fish poppers as their exclusive surface lures. In a way I'm glad, because these things are a secret weapon. Especially on a still morning in a lake or a creek, cast under the branches or in front of grass beds, twitched with the rod tip to get short sharp movements that get the propellers working, then left with a long pause before a twitch again, all on a very slow roll. Drives predatory species crazy. Great for getting wolf herring if you're going out to the reef chasing something bigger. Really versatile lure with great action.
