Add a Cymbal Without Adding Another Stand
This is a clever device that I did not know existed until I saw it on eBay. I ordered the standard 8mm version first, not realizing that cymbal stands are not all standard 8mm. Mine, of course, are not. So I got the 6mm and it works great. I have a splash cymbal mounted above my ride, and it is very conveniently reachable. The stacker holds the cymbal 7 to 7 1/2 inches above the other cymbal. Oddly, the threads on the top of the stacker are 8mm, so I could use my 8mm stacker on top of the 6mm, but I haven't yet. The only drawback I can see is that it looks a bit funny. I haven't seen many stackers in photos of drum kits. Maybe most drummers don't know about cymbal stackers yet. I am very happy with mine. It is solid, simple, holds the cymbal securely, and comes with all the parts as shown. Clever. Good idea. Buy two.
