I too used this bad boy in a low power unraid box, works a treat with a good amount of docker containers, 8TB of drives of the WD Red variety. With Cryorig C7 idles at ~27C in netstat, loaded around 55C max (Plex transcode). I'd reckon you could get about 3 transcoded streams reliably, or a metric crap-ton of direct play. Not tested C-states or ECC support, but I don't really care with this many threads at this TDP.

E3-1240L v5 is excellent for my unRaid build. Running a full nas and 2 VM (1 Linux Mint and 1 Win 7 Pro) without a hitch.
