The tool worked perfectly and is the same exact brand and model Catalina Direct sells for a 20% more. Initial use was easy to figure out. It comes with two extenders for bigger engines but wasn’t needed for my Universal M25XP Diesel engine. I read other reviews that said it broke on the first use. I can see this happening, if one tried to use the extender when it wasn’t needed. That can cause the internal spring to bind. Tip to avoid breaking first time. Unscrew the internal arm at least half way out and then add the extender piece of necessary. Hope this helps.

Design is good but quality is cheap and it is easy to break. I had read reviews about the cheap quality and was making sure to be careful and I still broke the shoe off the shaft. I was able to weld and use. Quality is sub par and hinders the ability to use as it was intended.

Some of the reviews state that the item is manufactured cheaply. I think it’s a good design. It does have an obvious weak point. If used without abuse though it ought to do its job. It made tension and alignment of my air compressor belt easy. There’s a tool for every job and this is the one for putting tension on belts.

Poor quality. Tiny spot weld to attach each pulley end fitting. Broke on first use. Wound up using am inexpensive ratcheting clamp thay could be reversed on each end. Worked great and was a $5 solution.

Product has a fault in it's construction. It will probably break after a few uses as a belt tightener. The fault in construction could be easily fixed by manufacturer. Threaded piece needs to be welded perpendicular not at an angle to the pulley end shoe.
