Strange design
We really like Kitchenaid products. For the most part they are solidly built and well designed. Two design issues that I question about this toaster that sort of bother me. 1- The power cord comes out of the FRONT corner of the toaster instead of out the rear as every other toaster that I have owned. 2-The crumb catch trays come out of the rear of the toaster, which makes emptying the trays, which they suggest you do after each use, somewhat of an inconvenience as you have to pull the toaster out and turn it around to accomplish this. And no.... the cover is not simply installed backwards... that was my first thought.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Decent performance, controls are quite good, it could heat a bit more evenly but is acceptable. Toasting bagels, brown, or white breads, and even grilled cheese sandwiches (using toaster bags, of course) are all very good. This is the best toaster I have ever owned, It's easy to operate, easy to clean and looks great on the kitchen counter.
