It seemed a little big at first, and hard to get it to stay in the groove long enough to seat it all the way around, which is a distinct advantage of the flat gaskets...so here’s a solution; use a little Permatex gasket sealer, dab a little of it on one side of the o-ring all the way around and place in the groove with the gasket sealer towards the engine, gently running your finger around the circumference until it stays in the groove. Then you can put the cover on and button her up.
Tooooo big. Size fits in the groove but overall length prevents it from laying flat. Seal is simply to long and will not lay flat no matter what you do. I tried everything I could think of from sealant to silicone but the problem is you can’t squish it small enough to fit without it bulging out. Seal has a much bigger diameter than the groove it’s supposed to fit in. First James gasket I’ve ever had a problem with. Very disappointed
