Why did I wait?!
I have an ‘07 Silverado 1500 LTZ new body crew cab 2wd. Did a flip kit on rear (7”) with adjustable hangers and chose 2” giving me a 5” drop in the rear. Removed stock bumper and shaved bracket smooth. Have not “notched” it. I originally put Belltech Nitro Drop Shocks on the rear, thinking it was a shorter and better shock than stock. Well it was better than stock, but still bouncy and hit frame quite a bit. After awhile I put shock extenders on and it out the shocks back at an upright angle instead of the sloped angle from lowering it. This incredibly improved the ride then within a month both Nitro Drops blew out. They compressed and stayed compressed... I finally broke down and bought the Belltech 2210FF Street Performance shocks for the rear to replace the Nitro Drops. Let me start by saying, they are so much bigger in size, not so much length but diameter! And the compression and dampening.... wow. It rides like a completely different truck now. Yes obviously because the Nitros had collapsed I’d been riding rough for awhile. But this ride feels better than the Nitros ever did in the beginning. I almost bought these in the beginning and now that I have them wish I would have. Anyone who says there’s no difference other than price has no idea what they’re talking about. Just visually alone you can SEE the difference. On a side note I also have the Street Performance Lowering Struts on the front. I had the McGaughys lowering struts and after a year or so the rubber around the bottom mounts on BOTH deteriorated. After countless attempts to contact them it finally took me bad mouthing their company on their IG page to get a response. In which they had no response other than new ones were available for purchase... at full price.... I had been wanting to try the Street Performance due to reviews and McGaughys put a bad taste in my mouth so I went with Belltech. Again the ride is SO much better. They don’t go as low as McG’s- 2” compared to 3” but worth it for the ride alone. I can get an inch elsewhere (TWSS)! Now that I have Belltech Street Performance on all 4 corners it rides so nice. And this also 305/35/24 Falken Tires... I highly recommend these shocks! If you’re choosing Belltech spend a little more over the Nitro Drop 2s. Because now I’ve bought em both because I decided to try and save a little.!!
