NotesMatt Rocks lays out rich textures and layers of melodic songwriter electro-pop that's brimming with symphony sounds. It teeters between the brightest hope and the darkest despair. In 2007 Rocks left Baltimore for Portland, Oregon to record this full length album. He recorded with engineer/producer Rob Bartleson (Wilco, Jeff Hanson of Kill Rockstars, Slackjaw) at Haywire Recording Studios. Rocks built the sound using acoustic/electric guitars, trombone, trumpet, flugelhorn, violin, cello, double bass, piano, organs/keyboards, slide guitar, saw, banjo and gospel singers. In addition to writing the string and horn sections, that were arranged by Lars Cambell, he also played and wrote for the piano/organs/keys, vibes, and bass guitar.
