My previous Hitachi Hammer Drill was dying (the hi-lo gears were shot) so I got this bare new one since the batteries fit and was less expensive than others models. Works great, although the old drill was bigger and heavier. This is slightly smaller, but seems to work just as well and has a "lifetime" warranty.

My husband has arthritis in his hands and wrists so trying to operate a regular drill with battery is almost impossible. So we bought this for the light weight quality. And he could not be more pleased. It does the job as well as the heavier duty ones and he is able to use it oftener and longer. It really was money well spent. He couldn't recommend it higher.
I was looking for a good lithium drill.Well i found it in the Hitachi DVC18DCL.High and low range, hammer setting,a very strong drill.I have used many different brands of drills and this drill easily competes with the likes of dewalt and others like it.I know it's only a drill.....but you can tell just by using one wether it's built or not.Well this Hitachi is built strong, and i highly recommend it!!!!
If you haven't bought a lithium drill yet, do so on your next purchase. The battery out lasted any drill I've owned. As you use this drill, the power doesn't decrease like a regular battery. You have full power till it needs to be charged.I won't buy a ni-cad again. This Hitachi has surpassed all my expectations,If you buy one, I know you will love it.
Great drill, it has all the power needed,I wanted a replacement for my old Craftsman Professional and I found it, on a recent installation I used it for eveything from pilot holes to driveing several hundred screws, to useing a 3inch hole saw, and it worked perfectly no bindups, when I needed to recharge it was fast charging on the job site. This drill does what I wanted and needed, It just works.
