I needed this to run an app that doesn't run with current MacBook software. This MacBook is excellent. Great battery. Everything works. Display and keyboard are great. I think I like it more than the M1 macbook is own.
Excellent item, and exactly fit the bill.... even being 10 years old it still has a few tricks up its sleeve. All the ports are very useful for those of us NOT on cutting edge of tech. Bought to update from my old laptop, and to pair w a new printer---- PERFECT.
The mid 2012, 2.9 i7 MacBook Pro is very highly sought after because it is pretty much problem free and continues to age very well. I now have two of these, one for a backup that I use for travel. They both have 1TB SSD's and 16GB of ram. Sonoma is on each both and run very well. They are the perfect machines for every day computing.
The machine we received was in almos perfect state. I did a couple of updates to bring the memory a bit tighter and installed a larger drive but the machine was perfect. I reinstalled the OS on my fresh drive and installed applications without issue. The machine is operating normally all hardware is in perfect state.
Mac book laptops have a lot in common with windows laptops but the dvd slot I prefer to a ejectable dvd drive. The design is agian sleek, simple, and appealing.
if yer willing to run an older unsupported OSX (or need to because drivers for your old gear dont work on later OSX versions) these old MacBook Pro are still workhorses.
1970s SuperComputer power in a laptop size
At these prices, a dedicated laptop per "appliance" actually makes sense!
