Nobody had reviewed this, but the price and features looked worth a try.
Pros :
Price
Selectable frequencies
2 inputs with trim
Cons:
No "mic thru"
Earbuds blow
I upgraded to some dual driver audiofly buds for a buck-twenty and I'm real happy.
The on board limiter causes dropouts if volume too high. At first I thought about trying to open it and defeat the limiter the way I read a nady box had been modified. But then I decided to adjust the input trim and let it protect my ears.... So far that's been a good plan as the dropouts are momentary and not a bother.
The key is to upgrade the buds. These audiofly dual drivers fit like a glove, they sit flat in the ear pan so the body of the bud contributes to the sound isolation along with a tight canal fit. All this allows you to monitor at a much lower volume than the stage.
I noticed that if I belt clip next to my cell phone the body pack gets Confused and shuts off. I belt clip on the other side now, no more problems.
The only other thing to mention is that it's mono.... Doesn't matter to me.
I rated high because the price offsets the couple of cons in my view.
I did NOT receive any discounts or company bennie's to review... All objective.
Clear and transparent sound, easy to set up and use.
I should read the instructions, but I set the frequency on the unit ,set the frequency on the belt pack adjusted the volume on the unit and the belt pack. The sound is transparent. I bought expensive dual armature, dual driver ear buds. I heard the ear phones are not good . I bought this without ear buds.
The signal momentarily drops out several times during each performance. It comes back but it's jarring. I am trying to decide if I should send this back and purchase one of the more expensive units.
Hooked it up and have used it on several stages, inside and outside gigs with several different guitar and vocal wireless units. I've had no problems at all so far. Works great.
