I now own six of these, all Athearn and all from different production years. Some are so,old that the plastic used in the under frame is getting brittle and I had to replace the original coupler boxes with cemented on Kadee replacements. But, in typical Athearnnfassion, the mod was simple and the result is a piece of old rolling stock that is even better than new. If your middling Ana era up into sixties, thesevoldvstandards won’t look out of place on a freight orbpassenger consist. All the running gear is easily upgraded or just repaired. They can easily be made to be the proper weight.
