Perfect replacement for my old seized single speed 1 HP Hayward MaxFlo pump motor. Had some difficulty getting the old motor off but was glad I replaced the motor rather than a new 2 speed no-name pump that all reviews indicated 6 months. Century acquired over A.O. Smith, the original motor manufacturer on my Hayward pump so you know it is an established quality brand. To switch between speeds, you will need a SPDT toggle switch rated for 1 HP or greater - check out: Carling Tech DC221. requires minimal wiring/drilling. Or purchase a new end cap with it: Century 18313301 or Pentair 356546. If you go this route, be sure to purchase a new pump seal (Hayward SPX1500KA or generic PS2131 for my 1HP MaxFlo pump).

Newer version but same motor. Runs quiet and was able to reuse all pump parts. Downside, it didn't come with a switch. Had to use from old motor.
