Used this link for a Shimano rear derailleur using the Sunrace 10 speed 11-42 cassette. I also bought a longer B-screw at the same time, but realized after receiving both items, that this did the job alone, without the need for the longer screw. Quality is great, and have had no issues with it. once installed and properly adjusted, shifting is as good as it was with the stock piece and the 11-36 cassette.

My MTB rig was a 1-10 with a 11-36 cassette from factory. It was great but it was hard going uphill. I had to options change to 1-11 with a 11-42 cassette or buy just the Wolf Tooth 42 sprocket and this goat link to keep it 1-10 but upgrading the cassette to 11-42 taking away the 17 sprocket. I went with the second option. A lot less money and the results are great. it works like a charm. Now my rig is not only good going down hill, it goes up hill too.

My brand new XT derailleur would not work on on my 10 speed MTB with existing 11-42 cassette. The cable connector on the derailleur rubbed on the cassette. The Goat Link moves the derailleur just far enough to clear and shifts perfectly.

First, Wolftooth makes incredibly high quality stuff. I’m running a dropper remote, cinch rings, and this. I switched two bikes over from 2x to 1x and wanted to run a 11-42 (Suntour) cassette. One bike was SRAM so that fit no problem, but the other bike was Shimano, and I could not get good chain wrap. I could get the B screw to set clearance, but shifting was janky. Installed the Goat link and no issues at all. So, if you want to combine traditional 10 or 11 speed derailleur with a wider range cassette this is your only real option. It looks solid, hopefully I won’t have to crash test it. No instructions, so watch a video or dig up the instructions on the site.

If you have a shimano xt shadow plus and a 42t add on you need this. without it in 1st ring it would shift fine 2nd ring was sketchy and sometimes seamed the derailleur was hitting cog. But in third ring it was a definite no go... I put this bad boy on and now shifts are seamless all the time. I was actually amazed on what a difference it actually made.
