Just great warm tape sound. Best to put overdrive in front of it. Haven't opened it up to tweek it, or bought an expression pedal to bring 4th mode to life as Howard of CaitlinBread showed in Youtube tutorials. Not all slapback echo's are created equal. I'm glad I use it daily.

Best representation of the Maestro EP-3 in a pedal. Worth getting over the old Belle Epoch for the pre-amp alone, not to mention all the other modes. Sounds amazing, and it's really incredible when used with an expression pedal.

I bought this after watching many videos and thought I was buying the ultimate echo unit.... NOT !!! This is another high price effects pedal that has not lived up to the hype... I will keep this cause it does work as a decent delay pedal but I find my Ibanez Echo Shifter a much better pedal for half the money...The moral of the story is a big price tag doesn't mean it's the ultimate pedal.

Put this in front of my 66 bassman and the preamp section alone is “the tone”. A must have for vintage tube amps to achieve that authentic early rock sound. The rest of the circuit is icing on the cake. Allows you to create any kind of delays and echos...creativity for the masters....destined to be a classic.

I have an early 1970's EP3 Echoplex and this peadal is extremely close in sound and feel. Compared to the prices of an Echoplex today ($700 +) the Belle Epoch Deluxe is a definite value. Plus, there's no maintenance required.
