Marie-Ange losses her parents and brother in a car crash and is sent to live with a "man spirited" great-aunt in Iowa. She is made to do chores and walk to the school bus, starved and worked like a slave until "Marie" as her aunt insists she be called comes into an inheritance at the age of 21. She leaves Iowa and her best friend billy and returns to her old home in France and in a whirlwind romance with the current owner of her family's chateau, a dashing Count who sweeps her off her feet. She quickly has two children and learns her husband spends money like water and then learns he may be a murder. Are she and her children in danger? Three words - READ THE BOOK. I highly recommend this book - I was unable to put it down!
As always, the author presents genuine characters with a story that unfolds into a great read! Loved this book!

Along with Agatha Christie, Danielle Steel is in my opinion the best female writer in the world, She is one of my favorite writers, I have read most of her novels, I wont divulge any plots of this book because if you are like me you dont wont to know the plots until you reach them in the book. But I do highly recomend this book.
Very good book; I love any book written by Danielle Steel. This is a very good story; you can't put the book down; has real life experiences.
