This game is awesome!! There are a lot of catchy songs and memmorable teachers such as instructor moosillini and her sick beats. As one of the world’s first rythem games it has aged pretty well and spanned a spinoff, a direct sequel and a ps4 remaster. If you own a ps1 you should add this great game to your collection

Alright, about this game, I will say that the graphics are decent and the rhythm gameplay is very decent at times. But that where the positives end. What I played was frustrating. For starters, the button presses feel off. There are times where I'm pressing buttons the game is showing me, yet says I did it wrong. Despite the fact I swear the correct buttons at the right time. There's the chicken stage, where it feels like luck based. Same goes for the bathroom level. Both levels have instances where I only fail cause it's not perfect enough. The game demands the player act perfect for each rap, creating a frustrating experience that makes the game not very fun. I wanted to like this game more and while do like the look of the game and the music, It's too hard to reccomend to people. Cause the game demands the player be pefect on button presses. I only reccomend playing this game to see how the music games got started, otherwise, avoid this game. Read full review

Parappa The Rapper is a classic game. It had laid a foundation for all rhythm games to come after it. The game is filled with originality, it is not often that you get to see a protagonist rap in order to use a restroom at a gas station. I am a big fan of rhythm games, I own Rez and Guitarooman so naturally I was drawn to get this game. "Parappa The Rapper" plays like a game of Simon Says, buttons appear at the top of the screen and they have to be pressed making Parappa rap. The problem is that even if you time your button presses correctly the game has a chance of counting it as a miss. This is what makes the game so challenging and somewhat frustrating. The game only features 6 different songs and can be beaten in about an hour. While Parappa's world is filled with interesting characters and admittedly catchy beats the game's controls are imprecise and it is too short.Read full review
I got this product after seeing it in multiple best-of lists for PlayStation 1 games. The basic note-pushing gameplay may appear a bit simple (being one of the first rhythm games, and having been released almost 14 years ago), but the catchy songs, vibrant art design, and challenging gameplay (since it relies on more than hitting notes as you see them, but hitting notes to the rhythm) make it a worthwhile experience. DDR and Guitar Hero wouldn't exist without this game.
I’ve probably beat this game five or more times since I got it. It’s extremely fun to get better at, and the music is phenomenal.
