Buy what you need in 1 box.
Previous to this eBay purchase, I bought the same phone with 1 extra handset at a local store. It was easy to set up and works fine. It has great sound clarity and answering machine works well. I wanted an extra handset for another room in the house. On EBay I bought a spare handset of the proper model number. I could not get it to work at all. You are supposed to charge it and the original phone set up would register it to the set. I tried all the possible procedures mentioned in FAQ. Nothing worked. Excellent product!
I bought this item to supplement the phone that came with my answering machine, and it has worked great. It was also very easy to set up (just place the handset into the answering machine base to synchronize the phones, and you're ready to use the accessory handset). Not having to use wires to use the phone was a really nice surprise/feature. "AT&T extension phone worth owning"
First let me mention the fact that you need a main base that is compatible with this phone. This is merely an extension of the main hand set. I generally like AT&T products, and this no exception. I like the design, the ease of use/set-up, and easy to understand user manual to get the best use of the product. I previously owned a VTech phone that was not as easy to use as far as features, but this AT&T is much easier. AT&t expandable system accessory
Works perfectly with compatible base and only requires power .This handset wirelessly adds an additional handset without needing a phone plug. Expandable handsets work with expandable systems up to I'm guessing six or seven expandable handsets at most.A&t base itself that requires a phone plug and power. Of course any expandable handset requires power / but not an additional phone line or jack. Great technology. I've never had any trouble with the AT&t base or an expandable handset.
