Not specifically water proof, but withstands moderately wet conditions (frequent handwashing in hospital setting, very rainy bike rides). No second hand on the dial. Digital display does not illuminate. Buttons on the side change the digital mode, sometimes accidentally. Nice Inexpensive Dress Watch
There are just some times when you don't want to wear a pro-diver 3 inch multi dial watch...like to your daughter's wedding. This will do nicely under your dress shirt. I would have been happy just to find the same watch in analog but this is just great. I warn you that it is simply not very clear just how to set everything since it chimes an alarm, has a 24 hour digital setting and other bells and whistles people seem not to be without. I think it has a calendar too and is capable of two different time settings...perhaps one for Greenwich England?
