Return to the science fiction universe of Ridley Scott’s "Alien" with "Alien: Isolation" for the PlayStation 4. Created by the game studio Creative Assembly, the PS4 survival horror game is designed to provide a nerve-wracking experience for players. It features rich atmospheric settings, terrifying alien opponents, and an engrossing original story line that will keep players both scared and entertained. Creative Assembly has adeptly mimicked the tense and unforgiving content of the original "Alien" film with this game. Enthusiasts of the horror game genre will be thrilled by the expansive content of "Alien Isolation." Set 15 years after the events of the original "Alien" film, the survival horror game "Alien Isolation" places players in the point of view of Amanda Ripley. Her mother, Ellen Ripley, disappeared aboard the spaceship Nostromo under mysterious circumstances. Approached by an android representing the corporation that dispatched the ship, Ripley is offered a mission. The black box of the doomed ship has been located on a space station called the Sevastopol, orbiting a gas giant in deep space. The corporation wants her to join the team tasked with retrieving it, and Ripley accepts. Unfortunately, the team’s arrival at the station brings them to the horrible realization that something is very wrong. The Sevastopol is in utter disarray and largely deserted, seemingly populated only by a community of paranoid human survivors living in isolation. Ripley is separated from her team and meets one of the station’s inhabitants. Named Axel, he tells Ripley that an alien monster is terrorizing everyone aboard and killing people with impunity. To Ripley’s utter horror, Axel is killed by the monster known as the Alien, forcing her to run for her life. Alone and terrified, the character is thrown into a game of brutal survival. Equipped with a motion tracker, players must outsmart the xenomorph as it ruthlessly stalks them through the corridors. Unscripted and thus unpredictable, the enemy can pop into view at any time from the numerous ventilation shafts. Resources are scarce in this Creative Assembly game, so there’s very little running and gunning during a mission. Gamers must largely rely on stealth in each mission, intelligently sneaking from objective to objective. Defined by tension and a pervasive sense of being hunted, "Alien Isolation" requires the utmost of attention. Knocking over a canister or exiting a hiding place too soon will result in a brutal and extremely violent death. Frighteningly, the Alien cannot be killed by human weapons in the game. Players can scare it off with a flamethrower, but it will slink away only to appear in view once more. Other enemies come to the fore as well in this video game, including hostile human characters and androids seeking to dispatch the player. The game experience of "Alien: Isolation" is one of constantly close calls. Players may rush to a close save point only to be killed at the last second. In order to release Ripley from the orbital hell, gamers must use tactics and intelligence. This horror game release features a time mode in addition to the normal gameplay. This mode pits the player in many a mission where objectives must be completed before the clock runs out. As the Alien is always lurking out of view, gamers must rapidly navigate Ripley through obstacles and corridors while avoiding sudden death. This Creative Assembly game is rated M for Mature and had an original release date in October 2014.
The game bridges the gap between "Alien" and "Aliens", allowing you to play as Ellen Ripley's daughter, Amanda. Very compelling story. Alien survival and horror mixed together beautifully! This PS4 version even utilises the Playstation 4's Camera to track player movement while peeking. The Camera also acts as the Aliens' "ears", listening to YOUR real-world environment! If you are hiding from the Alien and your pet, child, neighbour, or anything else makes a loud noise, the Alien will be alerted!
Got this for the PS4 pro and seemed like it was as a good game at the time of its release but for me however it did seem to be a slowlbstory line. Just a huge fan of the Alien series but I guess when we play this game again some time in the future it might pick up some speed to hold our interest.
Hope my crummy review helped in some way.
This is an excellent game with compelling quick action decisions. Not only do you have The Alien after you, but also Androids and other survivors as well. You Must Survive Everything In Your Way No Matter The Risk!!!!!
When I got it, the case was slightly damaged but the game was working amazingly nonetheless! My older brother loves it! And it's really thrilling when playing it myself!
Better than I imagined! Thanks!
2 hours into the game and I love it sneaking around hoping a xenomorph does not find you as well as other dangerous humans this game can definitely be considered scary
I like this game. I was skeptic at first before buying it. Now that I played it through it is a good game all the way. If you are a first person shooter you have to get used to sneak around trying to avoid the alien. Other than that it is a good different game. If you are a fan of the alien movie it is a good game for the fans.
Its a bit different then other games not to much shooting I think it would of help a lot more if you could of used more gun powered. its just to bad that there are no aliens game for ps4. but if you do find one e-mail me right away , thanks again sincerely john.
