  • great product I ordered another set and use clear 5/16 plastic tube to make a nice easy handle.

Great project when camping or hiking start your fire a different each night. If you get 5/16 clear hose you can put handles on each stick. It looks great and it keeps the rod from sliding down. In the 3/8 or 1/2" rods get larger hose. Right now I am up to 6 ways to start fire including a magnifying glass which also works great to look at small things. Enjoy nature. Ken Goodrich

  • MASSIVE!

Massive. Just massive. If you can't handle this crowbar of a ferro-cerium rod, drill out a piece of wood or spring antler and glue it in. In fact, that's a great idea for camper and prepper gifts. But it is massive. Combine that with can opener called P-51, the longer easier-to-use wee military can opener, and you're set for camping fun. I attached a rod to a cheap sheath knife as a sparking steel along with a P-51. Now L'il Sparky and Jaws is ready to go fishing.

  • Work Great

These work great and having extras for putting in my truck, 24hr bag, and backpacking bags is great. There not very long but they are more than enough to throw good sparks. Most handles that come on ferro rods usually come off over time so I just wrap athletic tape around the end of these for a good grip to hit with back of knife. I also add a loop from paracord under the tape to have a lanyard to wrap around my sheath.

  • Keep one handy.

Right size to stash in any small survival kit or even edc sandwich bag. Plenty of them to always have one available. I'll never forget my friend who couldn't start a fire to keep warm on an outing with his group. This ferro rod wrapped in cigar leaf foil for waterproofing(see to left rear in kit.)

  • Great Raw Material For Fashioning Your Own Flints!

Hello friend. These proved to be great for me. I placed wooden handles on the ends and then drilled holes in the end for lanyards. I used old hacksaw blades to make strikers and gave some to my son for a gift and I kept the rest. We have used them on our last camping trip to the Hila National Forest here in New Mexico. No regrets.

  • Exactly what I needed.

I needed several ferro rods for several small fire kits. These met my needs at a very reasonable price. I wrapped 1" Gorilla Tape around them for a handle. These will last for a long time because of their diameter. I am very pleased with my purchase.

  • Affordable, good quality. Good buy

Very affordable option. Good quality. Would be nice if a hole was drilled in one end but for the price they work just fine.

Nice product not to big or small could epoxy a small handle to it if wanted but not needed. You do need to know how to use it or have someone who dose show you how.
