So easy and convenient.
I had troubles removing my drain plug to the point where the head almost rounded off. This is using the right size wrench and still failed. I tried a curved jaw vise grip but no luck. Since my car is due for an oil pan gasket change, I removed the pan, dumped the oil, torch the mutha-f'n drain plug, drilled though and used an EZ out and finally came off without damaging the thread. But I will never gonna do that again. Once I got the oil cleaned off, I installed the Fumoto quick drain valve and see how it sits on the pan, it lined up vertical the way I like it and the way it should be. I removed it and sealed this baby with red loctite. Yes I used red, it's there to stay. This is just my preferred sealant and you don't have to use red, use blue if you plan on removing it easier on a later time, red is tougher to remove but guaranteed it is sealed and will not come loose. I love that little drain stem where you can attach a 1/4 - 3/8 id hose and hook it to a transfer pump straight to a used oil container. Can't wait for the next oil chaange. It will be more frequent since it's so easy... just turn the valve, drain, replace filter, shut the valve and add oil. Voila! Hope you haven't gone to the same hassle as I did. Leaked at first
Just like title says,this valve leaked when first installed. The gasket that comes with it is not a snug fit around the threads and moves around when you go to tighten. Just be careful and make sure the gasket is in the center then there will be no leak.
