If you enjoy the sport of shooting with an AR-type rifle, Bushnell has a riflescope designed with you in mind. Their AR Optics 3-12x40 mm scopes are caliber-specific to give the most accurate performance for the ammunition you like to shoot. This particular model is engineered to give outstanding results with AR223 bullets. This Bushnell AR Optics scope is made of a black aluminum alloy with an anodized finish. It looks great on a gun, and the matte finish means that it does not catch the sun and give off reflective flashes that reveal your position. The scope is 12 inches long and weighs 21.3 ounces. The mounting tube is 4.6 inches long with a one-inch diameter, which is compatible with most standard mounting rings. What makes this riflescope special is Bushnell’s Drop Zone-223 BDC reticle. It has crosshairs with marks along the lower vertical axis designating 200, 300, 400, 500, and 600 yards. These marks are precisely calibrated to give you the exact bullet drop compensation that you need to make your shot at each distance when using 0.223-caliber ammunition. The reticle acts in the second focal plane, which is excellent for long-range, precise rifle shots. Achieve astonishing levels of accuracy throughout the extended midrange with these Bushnell scopes. All the metrics of this scope match the quality of the reticle. The optics are fully multi-coated, which allows for a greater transmission of light through the 40mm objective lens. This results in bright, clear images at all levels of magnification. The coatings also reduce glare and reflection and help protect the external surfaces of the glass from scratches. The scope is sealed, making it waterproof and fog proof. This lets you take your rifle hunting in any weather or in the misty early mornings without worrying about condensation. The eye relief of this Bushnell model is 3.7 inches, giving your AR223 plenty of room to recoil without contacting your eye socket. The exit pupil is 13.7mm at 3x magnification and 3.7mm at 12x. These values ensure that you have a good view of your target even in the dim light of early morning or evening. This scope also has a generous field of view of 33 feet at 3x and 11 feet at 12x, so your quarry does not slip out of your sights when you are tracking it for that perfect shot. Hunters and shooters make windage and elevation adjustments on this scope by using the tactical turrets. MOA is adjustable throughout a range of 50 at 100 yards, with each click being 0.25 MOA. Parallax adjustments are made with the conveniently situated side turret. All the turrets click firmly, so you know how much you have changed the setting, confident that it will not jar out of position. Great scope BUT !
Very nice scope for the money, better than most $250 scopes. Peralax numbers are off a bit but who goes by them anyways right, nice and clear even at 12x.... May be a perfect scope for 90% of guns but NOT for a big Nitro Piston air rifle. I took the chance and it worked for about 800 shots then the reticle started to tilt, oh well. Sending it back to Bushnell and when I get a return it won't go back on the air rifle. Would be fin on a PCP rifle just not a Spring/Nitro Piston.
