Love SO very much about this vacuum! It allows you so many options to do various types of cleaning. The only downside is, since it's so different from any other vacuum I've used in the past, it's not easy to know how to make it do what you want. After a while, I'll be more adept at it, but it's not intuitive. Also, the cord seems to be in the way all the time, perhaps because it comes out at the bottom so you have to bend down and grab it when you're vacuuming to keep it out of the way. BUT I'd buy it again cuz of the many pluses it has - low clearance, easy/fast wand cleaning, easy empty (no bags!!!), canister option for stairs, etc. LOVE IT!

The Shark Rotator NV501 has one of the strangest designs I've seen in a vacuum. This is not my first Shark vacuum. i owned the NV22 previously and really liked it's simple design and raw power (actually more powerful than this model). I also own a Kirby G5 and a Vorwerk which is one of my favorites of all time, but it's broken. The Kirby is, of course, too hefty for daily use with stairs involved which is why i opted for the Shark brand which beats on price and has great performance for the buck. This particular model seems to be AI designed rather than human engineering because it's just so weird and takes a biy of getting used to which is why I only gave it 3 stars. Performance wise - while adequate and quite functional, it could use more suction power. I do like the fact that you can adjust the suction, but the maximum is way less than either of the other three machines I've mentioned including the much older Shark model which again has a more simple and effective design. This machine is the answer. I use it in my boxing gym to clean the20'x20' ring canvas and 3000 sq. feet of training floor. It picks up the small rocks members track in from the parking lot and sucks every last bit of dust and dirt off of the ring. I've been using two other vacs, a Bissell and a Eureka to do the job because they both over heat and stop working before the whole gym is clean. The Shark does it all in one pass. This was a refurb but other than the box it shipped in it seems to be a brand new vac. This was a great buy!

So far it's great! It pulled up lots of dust and hair, even though the carpet looked clean. Lightweight, relatively quiet, easy to assemble, easy to use hand tools, easy to maneuver. No bags to purchase. Have had it about 2 weeks - if it holds up, it will be an excellent purchase.

This vacum is good one at a reasonable price tag. Suction is good. Works good on many different types of rugs. Good on hardwood floors. Many useful attachments. Best of all it stands on it's own. I've owned many vacums and it's rare nowadays to find one that is a GEM that doesn't cost as much as a car costs. Lights are a nice feature to have. Control of the air flow is nice. All around great Vacum. Complaints None Yet.
