Never owned an Epson before but sick of the photo quality with my HP Photo printers. I love this printer, absolutely beautiful photos and I don't have to remove the letter paper when printing to my photo paper. I love the copy scanner as well. It has many features I haven't even tried yet. The only con is the pull out tray to catch the copies as it could break if my cat steps on it. I put a piece of 2X4 under it and painted it black and it supports the tray and looks like part of the unit. For the price it is very impressive.
I bought this printer for a couple reasons. First I needed a printer with printing options for printing on a CD, second I did not want to spend a lot of money, this is the 4th printer I have. None of the others have the CD option. You can buy ink for this on eBay for next to nothing, so overall it was a great purchase. It's compact and does not take a lot of space, so that even made it better. Very pleased and I would recommend. I bought mine from the Best Buy site, they were very well priced.

My Epson XP-610 came to me pre-owned but in great shape! As a Linux user, it took a little searching to find a good set of drivers for it but once properly installed the machine has been excellent, colors are true and text is sharp. A much better printer than anything comparably priced, in my opinion.
