this dry powder will show all low spots and sanding scratches if applied with the applicator that comes with it. easy to find all spots while sanding to determine the correct way to block sand way ahead of time for a gradual blend of block sanding.

Guide coat.
I haven't used the 3m version so I can't condemn this type of guide coat. Most of the powder falls off and the applicator is pretty cheap. Spraying on a guide coat is much faster. This is convenient and easy to grab and check an area.
