Very good looking sword
Ok so I was expecting a heavy, clunky, just for looks piece but I was pleasantly surprised by how light and solid it is. Granted it's not a carbon copy of a historically accurate piece but if you want a beautiful short sword this is a good start. The only things I didn't care for are the scabbard which I would like to have seen a wood wrapped in leather instead of just thick leather, and the other being the edge was a bit dull for what cold steel has advertised. Other than that I'm very happy with this sword and would suggest it to anyone who would want a great looking sword good quality sword that really doesn't care about historical accuracy.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Langs Messer
I took a chance on this messer for practical fencing even though I knew it was from Cold Steel. Very disappointed. Took the edge and point off in order to fence with it. Looks good, weight, balance and design are wonderful but the blade is to soft for doing anything with other than mounting it on a wall. Best cold steel has to offer, Almost the perfect buy.
This is easily the best thing cold steel has ever produced from a design point of view. Largely due to the fact that it was designed by master craftsman and smith Dave Baker. A great piece considering the constraints of mass production. However, if you plan to do more than cut plastic bottles and tatami mats then this blade will not work for you. The metal used by cold steel is soft and unfit for practical use and application. After grinding the edge off I attempted to use as a trainer but the metal was too soft to take blade on blade contact. The resulting burrs from use during training were unsafe and could easily cause serious harm. Almost the perfect buy... so close.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great Sword, Good Price, Fair Box?
Received this beautiful cold steel sword today. Was concerned at first because of a hole in the box it came in but once I opened the box the sword was in it's original wrapping and in great condition. The sword is light and the handle and guard are well made. I do wish the bevel cuts on the handle were a hair or two wider but overall great sword. A must have and one of the few sharp replica Messers available here in the US.
