Seagate Desktop SSHD Hybrid Harddrive
The Seagate ST2000DX001 is quiet and dependable. This model has been on the market for some time now so it has a proven track record. I bought my unit to update a 5 year old Dell 8300XPS. The solid state drive portion acts as a catch piggy backed on a 2T conventional hard drive. The unit is programmed to route access active programming (hardware & program instruction data) through the solid state drive while leaving the conventional storage portion of the drive to deal with passive (storage-type) data. This methodology decreases the time needed to boot up a computer or execute commands and thereby increases the overall speed of a computer. I paid a bit more than $100.00 for a new 2T SSHD unit but I am happy with this investment so far.

Thought it would be faster,
I had purchased a WD 2TB "BLACK" 64MB CACHE but wanted faster. The two drives tested identically with a variety of tests. No improvement. Both are fast. But I know it can be even faster with an SSD. I will put my money on a SSD next time. Note: both drives are in the same intel i7 computer with a mirror images of windows 7. The "Black" drive is 3 months old and the Seagate is a few weeks old. Very good drives.

Works great
Install was easy and the hard drive works great. Would give it a 5 but It is very loud. Had to download a program to reduce rpms. Helps a little. May not be as big a problem for tower computers, but mine is an iMac and it's directly in my face.

Simply Wow...
Added this to my system to upgrade the space, seen the reviews about the speed boost and they weren't lying. This HDD is much quieter than the traditional disk drives and I notice about a 20% difference in my data load speeds. Before I could tell when my HDD was slowing my PC because it would lag a bit and I could hear the HDD activity. But with this drive, the added on-board 8gb of solid state memory makes the world of difference. Was skeptical when I was first buying. Now I'm without any regrets. (You won't notice the additional performance boost unless you install your Operating System onto this drive.)

This hdd seems to be faster, but it does click a lot like some of my older drives before they crashed. I personally feel like its a great deal for 75$. boot time on windows 10 is faster it does seem. lots of storage for the price. I have it in a OptiPlex 980 SFF so it sits right up on my desk. A quality drive
I already have experience with this model drive, that's why I bought another. The hybrid nature of these drives doesn't really show until repetitive tasks have been performed several times. Apparently, the SSD portion has to be "trained". You really can't go wrong with one of these if you need large capacity and a moderate increase in performance.

Fast hard drive and faster delivery
The SSHD hybrid model ST2000DX001 2TB hard drive is very fast for a desktop unit , equal to any SSD hard drive I have ever owned .Using the H/P web site clone software to integrate , was a breeze and it turned around a 7 year old HP I/7 that was about to die of old age . This has saved me a small fortune as I don't have to buy a gen 7 computer now, until they come down to a more reasonable price . If they don't have this hard drive as standard by then I will put one in so, here is hoping that they do !

Hybrid upgrade
I thought about this for a while. My main drive is a WD Black edition and about 3-years old. I got this one and used some free software to transfer my OS from the WD to this. It took 71 minutes, booted right up, about 3-4 times faster. My games load faster and so far no video-driver drops while taxing the PC. I like WD, and Seagate, but this thing woke my machine right up! Boot time improved, apps load with a little more snap, and it is quieter than the old one. Great price point, $75-$100 for SSD/HDD Hybrid Performance and 2TB of storage. (Mini Tool Partition Wizard 9.1 Free), get and step up. Very satisfied.
