The weight is comparable to titanium. Long enough to reach to the bottom of 1-quart Ziploc bags and instant backpacking meals (like Mountain House). The option of fork or spoon is nice as well. The biggest benefit is that you can take it apart so it will fit in bear canisters better (like the Bare Boxer Contender). Biggest weakness is that liquids can get into the "connection" point when it's elongated, so a few drops of water may be necessary to clean it a bit once you've disconnected it. For me it's worth that one noted weakness.

This thing is perfect (ie. long enough) if you use any of the bagged backpacking dried foods. Once you connect the 2 parts, you'll finally be able to eat without getting food all over your hands!
