Great quality, a bit too powerful for everyday curiosities or seeing aides.
Nice all metal construction. The 20X is perhaps the most that you can use for normal practical "things" as it is quite powerful Given a 10X setting on side of it I would probably reach for the 10X most of the time. I purchased a 40X first not realizing the power and it is so powerful it is useless for every day needs. More of a gemologist or biologist too. This is my first loupe, so I can't compare it to others. What I can say is that it seems very high quality. It's sturdy & heavy, but not too heavy. Small enough for your pocket or purse. The light is BRIGHT! But when using beside a lamp, the light is unnecessary for many back stamps. I ordered 2 - One for the house & one for the car. Always prepared! Loupe protected in own Luggage!
I liked this loupe because it is carefully packed in a tight plastic box, within a cardboard one. I've had some issues with these sensitive loupes with led illumination-- but suffice to say, if all were better protected through transport and shipment, there might be less issues. This one, as did others, came from China. It is made durably, but most importantly, is that the sensitive led mechanisms are better protected with this particular loupe. So clear and bright
The light is so bright, it was startling, but a good thing. I had trouble setting my thermostat because even with a 10X magnifying glass I had trouble seeing the AM/PM.
