  • Just what I needed!

I bought these for a restored National HRO-500 receiver, which was built in the 1960s. Very glad I could find them on eBay; the chain hardware stores seem to have switched over to all halogen bulbs or whatever. Also glad they're the long-life version, since it's a 45-minute project to open up this receiver, even just to replace a light bulb! The receiver looks great all lit up.

  • Good NOS #1847 Lamps

Purchased for four dial lamps on a restored Hammarlund SP-600 communications receiver. #1847 has exactly the same voltage, amp and watt rating as #47. The difference is #47 is rated as a 3000 hour bulb and the #1847 is a 5000 hour bulb. These are NOS made in USA GE bulbs with brass bases and green insulator beads. Being NOS, some light cleaning is required of the glass bulbs and bases. The positive contact brightens up with a dry rag. The filaments show some variation in centering and are placed at a uniformly high location in the glass bulb. The glass bulb has a shallow molding seam which may project patterns on illuminated surfaces. Being a longer life bulb these lamps are not quite as bright as #47 and the color is tinted a toward yellow-red as opposed to a whiter white. I found this to be an advantage for the Hammarlund dials which are glaringly bright at night with #47s. All lamps tested good.

  • Great find, GE 1847 bulb !!!

These GE bulbs #1847 are really getting difficult to find. Great NOS bulbs used in amps, power supplies and electronic equipment. Stock up now. Also, great company to deal with !!!

  • Ideal for vintage test equipment.

There are some applications for specific number light bulbs for test equipment that depend on not only the voltage but the current the bulb draws. US made bulbs are far better in filling that specification. These do.

  • Lasts longer, period.

Used to replace #47 bulb in tube radio that kept burning out. The #1847 has been good for at least a couple of months now and is still going strong.
