Carburetor hooked right up with absolutely no adjustments required except for the choke cable insertion tube. I had to use the original choke cable insertion tube which has a more significant bend than the one supplied. Machine started right up and ran better than it ever has since I’ve owned it. Jetting was totally off and was not running right.
Jetting was totally off and my big bear 400 your idle and put around just fine but when you gave it throttle it would bog out and die, after pulling the spark plug and seeing it covered in black soot I pulled the carb and opened it up, the main jet should be a 112.5 and they had a 129 installed, the idol jet was too rich, and the needle was much shorter than the one in my factory carb all leading to the thing running wayyyyyy too rich, I have installed new jets with a rebuild kit as well as a new needle and it seems to be running better but I guess only time will really tell... It has not leaked fuel and seems to be a solid body but everything inside of it was not right so it is a decent shell but be prepared to do some major tinkering with it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
