  • For Dummies at it again!

I like most of the For Dummies books about things I otherwise have no clue what to do, and this book was no exception. There’s definitely a reason why this series has been around for so long. I had just rescued a beagle/blue heeler mix, and I have never trained a dog before, let alone one so energetic. This book made it easy for me to figure out my new family member’s quirks and make training that much easier for my eager lad. The text was clear and easy to read, and it gives specific, personal experience that the authors have learned. The fact that these authors used personal, relatable experiences gave me an idea of what to do about my new boy. He took to the advice that I used out of that book like a dog to bacon. For this alone I would definitely recommend this book. It’s a helpful resource for anyone starting from scratch.

  • Dog training

This is a simplistic training manual. There are many good aspects to this book. As with any instruction manual you take what applies to you, use it and adjust the rest. Overall, this book has a lot of good points.
