I've always heard about this particular book and knew it was hard to find in regular bookstores, but with Ebay, nothing seems hard to find anymore. It didn't matter to me whether or not I owned a first edition of this book; I just wanted to have a copy and when I saw the Buy Now option and it was located here in the U.S., I knew it was my opportunity. This book has been sold for more than $60 in some bidding wars, depending on the edition and if it's coming from overseas, the shipping can add up as well. This book isn't for everyone. A person would have to know and understand Yoko Ono to grasp where her thoughts and ideas are coming from in this particular book. She was, after all, an avant garde artist, and that alone isn't appealing to most people. You'd also have to know the history of Yoko and of John Lennon, together as a couple and as individuals to understand the deep and intellectual meaning of this book. I admire Yoko as a person and wanted to add the book to my growing collection which consists mainly of Lennon's artwork. It is a book like this that made this couple quite unique and way ahead of their time!Read full review
This book is excellent in helping to re-wire the human circuitry: the way in which we think and see the world. After reading, practicing, and doing - you may find yourself less inhibited. It is a blessing that we have an artist, who is part of the avant garde, be so generous with her knowledge and talent and insight(s).

Disclaimer: I'm a die-hard Beatle fan. I don't care for Yoko's signing -- though i've admittedly not tried wading through any of her solo efforts -- but i *have* been to one of her local art shows here in Cincinnati in the 1990's. I guess i got this for the sake of completion. In the same eBay order i also got a copy of a hardcover book of Paul's paintings. (I didn't even know he painted! I also have a book of his sheet music of some of his favorite tunes that contains a pen-on-paper sketch for each song.) Currently the two books are sitting together on a little stand in the "art room" of our house; if inspiration is lacking, just taking a casual look through either book gets my creative juices flowing....

Fluxus was an international, interdisciplinary community of artists, composers, designers and poets during the 1960s and 1970s who engaged in experimental art performances which emphasized the artistic process over the finished product. Yoko Ono's book iillustrates and exemplifies what her performance art was all about. I think. Frankly, I'm still trying to understand what's here. Seems rather over my head, but at the same time, I'm fascinated.

This book may not be for everyone. I'm a John Lennon and Yoko Ono fan. So I found the book to be an interesting insight into their art.

Fascinating look into Yoko's early writings. Most "poems" "plays" and life advice are from the early 60's. This book highlights the a·vant-garde style that Yoko would later become as an artist. Cool book. Funny introduction by John Lennon.

Lovely, funny, and touching!

This is a classic of conceptual art by an icon who should be known for more than being married to John Lennon.
